Philip John Clapp was born on March 11th, 1971 in Knoxville, Tennessee and is known to the world by his stage name “Johnny Knoxville”. He known for his role in MTV’s stunt show Jackass.
The show Jackass was created by Johnny and his friends Spike Jonze and Jeff Tremaine. Knoxville starred on the extreme stunt series with his co-stars Bam Margera, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Ryan Dunn, Jason “Wee Man” Acuna, Preston Lacy, Dave England and Ehren McGhehey.
Before he was famous he became interested in acting after his cousin gave him Jack Kerouac’s novel On the Road.
His first wife is Melanie Lynn Cates, they got married in 1995 and were divorced by 2009. He later married Naomi Nelson in 2010 and they have been together ever since.
His other film credits include The Dukes of Hazzard, Men in Black II, Walking Tall, A Dirty Shame, The Ringer, Lords of Dogtown, The Last Stand, Half Magic, Action Point, Rosy, Above Suspicion and Skiptrace.
Johnny is also a voice actor who portrayed Leonardo in the movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014).
His television roles include Wildboyz, Dancing with the Stars, Nitro Circus, The Dudesons in America and Drunk History.
