He has been on and off with his ex wife Kimberly Anne Scott. The couple first married in June 14, 1999 and divorced on October 11, 2001. They were married again on January 14, 2006, but then eventually divorced again later that year. He has three children: Hailie, Whitney and Alaina.
He became a global sensation when his first song “My Name Is” came out. In his high points during his career he won three Rap Album Grammys for The Slim Shady LP, The Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show. The 2002 film 8 Mile was about his life and he won an Academy Award for Best Original Song for “Lose Yourself”.
